Professional MBA Curriculum

Blue Roadmap with location pins

University of California, Riverside’s (UCR’s) Professional MBA (PMBA) program provides a comprehensive framework for the strategic management of business organizations. Our PMBA curriculum includes MBA core courses in accounting, economics, finance, information systems, management, marketing, organizational behavior, and quantitative analysis, as well as specialized electives, an MBA capstone course, and a fieldwork in management internship or work project.

As a PMBA student at UCR, once you complete your core MBA courses, you will choose an MBA concentration from seven options, which will determine your elective courses. You will have the flexibility to choose electives from a variety of functional areas to add an MBA specialization to your professional interests, personal passions, and desired career path.

PMBA Track II, effective Fall 2024

PMBA candidates with three or more years of relevant work experience may qualify for an accelerated track (PMBA Track II), which will allow candidates to earn a UCR MBA degree with 64 quarter units (compared to our standard 80 units). PMBA Track II candidates will receive confirmation of their Track II status at the time of admission. All core MBA courses in addition to the capstone course and the fieldwork in management course will still be required for graduation. Candidates will then need to complete 20 units of elective courses. Schedule a consultation with our admissions advisor to find out if you qualify.
