Alumni and Students Connect at the 2018 Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) National Convention

UCR School of Business alumni and students connected at the 2018 Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) National Convention, held in Las Vegas. Alumni from Deloitte, PWC, KPMG, RSM, Goldman Sachs, and Google met with UCR students throughout the week, who were able to network with the best names in business.

Turner Stanton ’16, UCR School of Business alumnus, represented Deloitte at the convention. His career with Deloitte started at the 2014 convention with an internship and ultimately a job offer from Deloitte. This year he is on the other side, interviewing top candidates for internships and employment.

At this event, UCR Business students receive on-the-spot interviews and some have received internship and full-time job offers. Those that do not receive formal offers are now armed with top-tier connections from top companies and new professional skill sets.

ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals for America) was the first national Latino professional association in the United States, established in Los Angeles in 1972. ALPFA aspires to be the business partner of choice for companies seeking to hire and develop Latino talent. It serves more than 81,000+ professional and student members across the country. In addition to networking and professional leadership development opportunities, its members have access to 50,000 paid summer internships through hundreds of Fortune 1000 corporate partners.
