Student Career Advisory Council
The student Career Advisory Council is a volunteer committee of graduate business students who advise, support, and participate in career and professional development activities facilitated by the Career Development Center (CDC) staff. Business graduate students in this role have the opportunity to work closely with the CDC staff and meet both internal and external UCR School of Business affiliates.

Student Advisory Council Position Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between the AGSM student body and Career Development Center
- Represent the CDC at networking events, company information sessions/tours, guest speakers, local conferences, volunteer Employer Board Meetings and other related CDC events
- Help CDC staff promote and increase student attendance for career events via support with marketing, social media outreach, tabling, etc.
- Provide suggestions and feedback to the CDC team on behalf of the AGSM student population to help us improve the services and resources we offer
2022 - 2023 Career Advisory Council
Jazmin is a second-year UCR AGSM MBA Candidate. As an undergraduate at UCR, Jazmin interned for the Mayor's office enhancing public understanding of policy related to small businesses, multicultural issues, and human rights. In her first year, Jazmin interned for Disney’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion/ Learning Development department. At Disney, she helped employees share their stories, their culture and created programs to make them feel inclusive within the company. She is passionate about helping others by providing support, care, and resources to those in need. She is enthusiastic about her goals and deeply committed to make a difference for students to achieve their career aspirations. In addition, she hopes that her leadership will make a positive impact in the lives of students. Jazmin is proud to be the Chair of the CDC Advisory Council where she provides students with career resources and peer support in achieving their internship/job goals. Jazmin is grateful to have the opportunity to lead a team of like-minded students and looks forward to seeing how the CDC Advisory Council actions can uplift and empower AGSM students.
Saransh is a first-year MBA candidate with five years of experience in the Indian banking industry and operational experience in the retail space. Now, he intends to concentrate in supply chain management. Saransh feels that he can utilize his experience, drive, and motivation to help his peers develop their professional skills by making the CDC resources more accessible to students. He is passionate about mentoring and assisting people and strives to create an environment where everyone can learn and grow together.
Zeeshan Khan is a second-year MSBA candidate with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He is passionate about leveraging his technical skills and business acumen to help businesses make strategic decisions backed by data-driven insights. He has two years of work experience in the tech industry working in the field of data analytics and business intelligence. Serving as the co-chair of the CDC Advisory Council, he's passionate about taking initiatives to increase engagement with the Career Development Center and support his peers with the resources for their professional development.
Shriansh has a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering and is a second-year MBA student. He is interested in using his business knowledge and technical expertise to support firms in making strategic decisions and has two years experience in the IT industry, where he held positions as a business consultant and an executive in business development. Shriansh aspires to be a business strategy consultant after graduation. Shriansh joined the CDC Advisory Council to advance his career and provide his peers with the tools they require for their professional growth.
Talha is a second-year MBA candidate with eight years of experience in the tech industry. He is passionate about solving customer problems by delivering tangible products. He specializes in product management and go-to-market solutions. He interned with Amazon Web Services as a senior product manager last summer. He is co-chair of the Student Advisory Council, and represents the Career Development Center (CDC) at school events. He loves meeting people, listening to their stories, and sharing his experience. His mission is to boost student engagement with the CDC and support his peers in achieving their professional goals.
Career Council Advisors
Raghu Anumula is a PMBA candidate with 15 years of experience in IT management and fintech, and is currently a global tax technology systems manager at Google. He specializes in finance and tax implementations for product companies to develop tax strategies with the latest technologies in Google. He is passionate about student career readiness and thrives on helping fellow students land their dream careers. He is part of the CDC Advisory Council to support student success and ensure other students have the resources they need to succeed through peer support.
Annesha is a MSBA candidate with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics. Prior to joining UCR, she worked at KPMG as a risk consultant and with the NFL in sports analytics. Passionate about leveraging her econometric skills and her love for game theory and consumer behavior, she desires to work in an analytics practice post-graduation. She was drawn to be a part of the CDC Student Advisory Council by her desire to contribute to AGSM by providing her peers a platform to access relevant career resources and at the same time, grow as a person.
David Cooper is a second-year MBA student with professional experience in international freight, a start-up dessert business, accounting, and consulting. He specializes in client-serving, accounting-based consulting work. David is passionate about establishing and strengthening the intersection between business and international development from a Global South perspective, rather than the traditional Western/Global North idea of international development. He joined the CDC Advisory Council to bring a unique perspective to AGSM as it relates to professional development, as well as to strengthen the connection between the CDC and the AGSM community.
Cassidy is a second-year MBA candidate with a concentration in information systems. Cassidy graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2020 with degrees in marketing and film. She has six years of digital media and marketing experience through her photography business and several positions she held during her undergraduate program and is excited to use her entrepreneurial skills at a future workplace. She hopes to work in the entertainment industry using a combination of her degrees and experience in a marketing or management role. Cassidy benefited from the CDC during her first year at AGSM, and joined the CDC to help her peers take advantage of the opportunities and resources provided by the CDC.
Franchesca Jefferson is an MBA candidate with three years of marketing and social media experience in the cosmetic and technology industries. Coming from a non-business background, she realized the way to intertwine her interests in film and marketing strategy into viable career opportunities would be to pursue an MBA at UCR. She has worked as a social media manager, production intern, and marketing intern, and leverages her creative skills in the classroom. With her passion for marketing, she aims to work in the entertainment industry post-graduation. Franchesca strives to grow both personally and professionally, and to expand her professional network with the support of her AGSM cohort, faculty, and staff. She is a proud member of the CDC Student Advisory Council, where she hopes to give back to the school and its students by engaging in peer support, hosting workshops, and sharing career resources.
Minhua (Kelly) Jiang is a MSBA candidate with a concentration in marketing. She completed her bachelor’s degree in computer science and technology 12 years ago and worked as a marketing manager and initiated marketing strategies, media promotions, advertising consultations, and public relations for many fortune 500 companies in China. She is a marketing professional who specializes in planning, managing, and executing short and long-term strategies/activities for sales lead generation and brand exposure. Now her career goal is to work as a product or marketing manager in a top technology company. Minhua is part of the CDC Advisory Council to support student success and ensure other students have the resources they need to succeed through peer support.
Sweta Mulji is a second-year MBA candidate with over four years of experience in the marketing sector. She specializes in social media marketing, product marketing, project management, and market research. She is passionate about creating a difference in an organization through creativity and an understanding of the consumer. She is part of the CDC Advisory Council where she provides students with the right career resources to help them thrive in the professional world.
Iuliia is a Master of Science in Business Analytics candidate. She has 10 years of work experience in the banking and finance industries as a product manager. She also has strong expertise in launching and developing new complex digital products, as well as redesigning existing ones to meet evolving business needs. She loves her work, “It is always so inspiring to find and keep a balance between customers’ needs and business value.” Iuliia is passionate about personal development, overcoming challenges, and new experiences. She supports a long-life learning mindset. She is proud to be a member of the CDC Advisory Council where she can support her peers in reaching their career goals and encourage them to expand their horizons and dream big.
Merve Sekercigiller is a second-year MBA candidate with a marketing concentration. She has over eight years of experience in manufacturing, production, sales, and marketing with extensive knowledge in digital marketing, strategic planning, new product management, international marketing, and brand management. Working in executive roles in a company that had strategic partnerships with American multinational corporations helped Merve find her one true passion, fashion, and she plans on seeking a role as a brand marketing manager after graduation. She joined the CDC Advisory Council to share her journey as an executive and an entrepreneur to inspire other students to achieve their goals.
Aarev is a first-year PMBA candidate at AGSM with two years of experience as a sales and business development manager at Overseas Education Consulting. Having a strong commerce and business background, Aarev is passionate about integrating that experience with technology and so businesses can maximize their opportunities exponentially. Aarev is excited to join the CDC Advisory Council and hopes to give back to his AGSM peers by educating them on career development resources and events. He enthusiastically participates in all AGSM events and activities, and believes that such initiatives are great opportunities to not only become well-rounded leaders, but also network with other people.
Grant Rueca is an MBA candidate and is working as a student marketing assistant for the Career Development Center. Grant specializes in marketing and is passionate about telling the emotional and motivating stories of businesses. He is part of the CDC Advisory Council to act as a guide for student success and to maximize his goal of making a positive impact at AGSM.
Bhumika Singh is a first-year MBA candidate and completed her bachelor's degree in commerce in India. She has worked in several roles in sales, marketing, and accounting. She considers her interpersonal skills her greatest strength and is passionate about serving others. She is part of the CDC Advisory Council because she wants to empower her peers and connect them to the right resources for their professional development and career needs. She aims to make an impact and be an approachable person for her peers to talk to in times of need.
Spriha is a second-year full-time MBA candidate with a concentration in information systems. While an undergrad, she majored in computer science then worked for Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) as a senior software engineer where she discovered her true passion was to be involved in the decisions of product-making. She decided to pursue an MBA to take her career to the next level. She worked at Amazon Web Services as senior product manager/Tech intern this summer. She joined the CDC Advisory Council to put her experience to good use and to support students who are looking for guidance in their career paths by providing them with resources.
Nandini is a first-year MBA candidate with three years of experience as an operations associate in an American consulting firm along with a brief stint at her own online start-up back in India. This start-up helped her realize her deep passion for marketing and she plans to concentrate in it. Nandini is also a passionate mentor who has joined the CDC Advisory Council because she wants to connect her peers to the right resources for their career development. She is actively involved in all initiatives at AGSM and believes these are great opportunities to become well-rounded leaders.
Rui (Jeffrey) Zhu is a full-time MBA student with more than four years of experience in operations and logistics in the E-commerce/wholesale industry. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, concentrating in international business and marketing, and is pursuing his dream to earn an MBA in operations and supply chain management. Jeffrey believes helping and engaging with others will bring students from all backgrounds, languages, and educational experiences together. He represents the CDC to provide solutions, assistance, and positivity to students seeking help and advice.
