As UCR School of Business alumni, you have lifetime support from the Career Development Center team as you pursue opportunities for professional development, advance your career or make career changes.

We welcome alumni to visit campus and support the next generation of future business leaders. There are many ways you can give back and get involved!

AGSM Executive Mentor Network

The Executive Mentor Network (EMN) is designed to engage graduate students with junior, mid-level or senior executives that work in the private, public or non-profit sectors. Students are matched with mentors who have parallel professional interests and share similar career aspirations in regard to occupation, job function and industry.

The EMN provides an opportunity for mentors to share knowledge, insights and professional experiences with graduate students. Mentees will gain ideas and information that are applicable to their academic studies, internships, short-range job targets and long-term career goals.

Ways to Connect

Invite Students to Tour Your Company

AGSM students appreciate tours of various organizations for the opportunity to see different work environments, office cultures and professional atmospheres in-person. Your organization can work with the CDC team to host a group of students at your facility. Typical company tours consist of a brief welcome, a walk-through of the facilities and a brief presentation or Q&A by a recruiter or hiring manager to provide a company overview and discuss the hiring process, current openings and any other pertinent information. Employers usually see a significant increase in applications from students who attend a company tour.

Be a Presenter

There are many ways to get involved with student career development on campus. We welcome alumni to serve on industry panels, or even present during workshops and career-focused class meetings. You pick the topic, and we will facilitate your visit. Alumni have presented on a wide range of topics, including leadership, entrepreneurship and interview preparation.

Attend a Networking Event

Attend our quarterly Networking Events, designed to connect graduate business students, employers, influential community members, faculty and staff for the purpose of building professional contacts. This conversational, yet structured, setting allows employers and students to converse outside of the traditional interview process. Participants have made connections that led to internships, mentoring relationships, or full-time jobs at 100% of our past events.

Support AGSM Student Career Development

There are many opportunities to give back to your alma mater, and sponsorship of the Career Development Center allows for more impactful student-focused services.

Examples of support include:

Send AGSM students to National MBA Conferences, which host the largest concentration of top Fortune 500 businesses intent on meeting, interviewing and hiring graduate business students. Sponsorships can cover conference registration fees, student airfare, lodging and other expenses.
Develop or contribute to an internship fund to subsidize students working in unpaid internships.
Sponsor Career Treks by funding travel for a group of students to visit domestic or international organizations and learn about industries in various cities.
