  • How should I dress for Commencement?

There is no dress code. However, it is a special day for our graduates and their families and we suggest business casual attire.

  • What are the COVID-19 guidelines for Commencement and are we required to wear a mask?

As announced on May 27, UC Riverside is reinstating indoor masking starting Monday, May 30 through Monday, June 13, 2022. Face coverings will be required in indoor spaces on campus and in university owned or operated venues.

All Commencement attendees must wear masks indoors, including volunteers and guests. Commencement speakers may remove their masks to deliver their remarks. Graduates may remove their masks while walking across the stage and while being photographed on or adjacent to the stage.

The health and safety of our graduates, guests, faculty, and staff is our top priority. All participating graduates have self-attested to comply with the participation requirements. To ensure a safe experience for all, please consider the following:

    • Do not come to campus if you feel unwell or have recently tested positive for COVID-19.
    • All participants, regardless of age should be fully vaccinated (two doses plus booster) or have had a negative COVID-19 test result within 48 hours (PCR test) or 24 hours (antigen test) prior to the ceremony. Providing proof of vaccination or test results is not required at this time.
    • For indoor ceremonies, face coverings will be required for all in attendance, regardless of vaccination status. Free masks will be made readily available at the event.
    • For outdoor ceremonies, face coverings are strongly recommended for all in attendance, regardless of vaccination status. Free masks will be made readily available at the event.

Please check back regularly for the most up to date information about COVID-19 requirements.

  • Are we required to show our vaccination card?

No proof of vaccination will be required at the ceremony. We ask that you observe safe health practices and respect the safety of your fellow participants and their guests.

  • Do my guests need a ticket to enter the Commencement ceremony?

Yes. On May 17, you can log into Marching Order with the same log-in information as for the Intent to Participate form and order your guest tickets.

The maximum number of tickets available to School of Business graduates is 7 tickets.

  • Do I need to RSVP for the reception?

Yes. Registration for the reception is open. A reservation is required to attend the event.

The reception will be held at The Barn from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Friday, June 10, 2022.

    Register for the reception

  • I have guests who want to watch online. How can they do that?

The UCR Business commencement will be streamed live. Campus will also make the recording available on their YouTube channel in the 2022 Commencement playlist after the event.

  • Can I have my preferred name read during graduation? How will my name appear on the Commencement program?

Graduates names will not be printed in an official program. Graduates must check the correct spelling of their names on the Intent to Graduate application.

If you would like to update your preferred/lived first name and middle name for Commencement purposes, you are required to update your information in R'Web.
